OUDMILANO BRANDING POSITIONING
OUDMILANO reflects the trend to authentic, wholesome brands and neo hippy chic fashions for a generation that is out to share and not to shock - still glamorous and gorgeous but a refreshing alternative to the ‘1980s New York Night Club Sleaze’ of most make up artist led brands.

OPPORTUNITY
Create a global millennial beauty superbrand by COMPENSATING for weaknesses in key Western beauty brands with an EASTERN INFUSION.

Global/Eastern Fusion a promising source of true difference. There is huge interest in the East in current Western fashions; OUD perfume to geometrics to fabrics.

Tone of Voice should be POETIC and NEO CLASSICAL.
Mixed with PLAYFUL Modernity and vibrant, exotic oriental infusion.
ORIENTAL UNFOLDING DISCOVERY
A cosmetics brand that brings inspiration from the East. As regal and exotic as a Moghul princess.
Fresh, feminine and flirty  but far from the jaded and decadent world of Western beauty.
From Arabian eyelashes and Iranian blood red lips to the vibrancy of Bollywood
THE MUSE
All about timeless screen star glamour, Visconti’s Leopard, Claudia Cardinelli - Fellini, Anita Ekberg Dolce Vita, Talitha Getty Rekkha Umrao Jaan, Sophia Lauren, Salma Hayek, Sofia Coppolla Marie Antoinette & Olivia Palermo, Amal Almuddin.
THE CONCEPT
There have been many glamorous moments in human history, such as the Mughal empire still known today for the exquisite finery of its ornament and architecture… Moghul empire was the Milan of it’s day... Marco Polo sparked the renaissance in Italy, bringing riches from the east to infuse into Italian culture & society, creating visual imagery clues to the place & the person. And this is the departure point for OUD Milano, think Versace 80% drawing from Roman Empire, fusing vamp cinematic Italian, modern glamour.

  GRAPHICS/TYPE
Logo is Italian renaissance manuscript inspired, classic timeless type style & spacing, but as a contemporary serif with feminine flourishes that are bold & beautiful, tag line in sans serif, think the typographical style of Tom Ford meets Bodoni Italian typography.
